The Quick Assemble tool in the Register allows users to easily create assembled products from multiple 'child' products. This article will walk you through the process of using the Quick Assemble tool, from searching and selecting products to completing the transaction and viewing the transaction details in reports.

Accessing and Using the Quick Assemble Tool

You can quick-assemble items in the Register by first loading the customer.

Please Note: While you can use the tool with no customer loaded, without the customer the Care Plan and any serialized items won't function the way they should. Care Plans are also not required when using the Quick Assemble tool.

Quick Assemble Steps

  1. Access the Quick Assemble Tool: Click Assemble in the upper right, as pictured above. You can access the tool before adding products to the Register or after.
  2. Add a Product: If you added a care plan product before entering the Assemble window, a prompt will ask you if that product will be assembled with another item. Click Yes and continue. If you've added products that don't have Care Plans to the Register, you will go directly to the Quick Assemble window.

If a Care Plan is already loaded, you'll see this:

To combine the selected Care Plan with the item components, click Yes.

  1. Select 'Child' Products to Assemble:

    • When the tool loads, if you had any line items already added into the Register, you will see those products listed under Items Already in Register, selected with checkboxes.
    • You are able to search for items to add to your assemble list. If only one product is selected the Assemble button in the lower right corner is not clickable. You must have at least two products selected to be able to assemble.
    • The left half of the window is for searching and selecting child products to assemble. When a searched product is selected it will appear under Searched Items.

Search products by keyword, identifier codes such as SKU and UPC, or by Alternate Lookups.

When you select a product, you'll see a highlighted checkbox and it will appear in the list of Searched Items.

If selecting a serialized product, a new window will appear allowing you to select the serial number or allowing you to enter it later.

  1. Fill Out Product Details:
    • Name: Enter a name for the assembled product. You will get an error if no name has been entered.
    • Department and Product Type: Select the appropriate options. Product Type must be filled out for care plans.
    • Price: This will auto-populate. Set the base price and sale price if different.
    • Discount: You can apply a dollar or percentage discount.
    • SKU Number: Generate a unique SKU using the magic wand or enter one manually.
    • Commissionable Toggle: Turn on/off if applicable.
    • Serial Number: Assign a serial number if needed by first toggling on Track Serialized Inventory. You can use the wand to generate a unique serial number or enter one manually.

  1. Complete the Assembly: Once all details are filled out, click the Assemble button at the bottom. If you've added a Care Plan, the care plan window will open and let you set up the care plan.

  2. Complete the Transaction: Review the information in the Register. The parent product is located at the top, with the child products listed below and indented, as pictured below. Complete transaction in the normal way.

  1. Transaction Detail View: Access the transaction to view transaction details. The transaction will display the parent product with all discounts, taxes and other info as pictured below. Next to the parent product title a dropdown can be clicked to show all child products.
